Sedlák, Filip ; Vogel, Jiří (advisor) ; Veverková, Kamila (referee)
The principle of freedom of conscience is supporting and typical principle for the Czechoslovak Hussite Church as can be seen already from the age before creation the new Church. We can find the mention in the articles in reform-modernist magazine The right of the nation by Alois Spisar or even in Farský's writing The Czech Church problem, which calls for freedom of conscience. Czechoslovak Church consciously follows the Master John Hus with its conception of freedom of conscience. According to Farský, freedom of conscienceis the only dogma of Czechoslovak Church, right in the sense of Hus. We can talk about following on Hus in case of freedom of conscience in sense of the freedom to full intrinsic binding to the law of God,Christ's law, as it is written by Hus, or to the spirit of Christ as it is used in Czechoslovak Church. The spirit of Christ is a requirement, which God claims to us through Jesus Christ and which is not in the litera of Scripture, it is somehow hidden behind it. Pokorný, Tomáš ; Johnson, Zdenka (advisor) ; Chalupecký, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with factors that affected the real estate market in the 1920s in the United States. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether monetary policy had any effect on the prices of new residential houses and whether its easing led to the creation of price bubble and subsequent fall in prices. At first the thesis focuses on explaining economic development and monetary policy in the 1920s and subsequently on the analysis of foreign studies concerning different factors and their effects. The statistical method of regression model was used to test hypothesis. The results of my analysis proved that the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve System was one of the factors affecting the prices of new buildings. This occurred through changes in interest rates, which encouraged an increase in real estate prices during the boom.
U. S. Monetary Policy in the 1920s
Bednář, Martin ; Tajovský, Ladislav (advisor) ; Jeřábková, Zdenka (referee)
This diploma thesis tries to analyse the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve System in the 1920s. Through a detailed scrutiny of the influence of the American Central Bank on the economic activities it also tries to answer the question whether the Federal Reserve System could be considered as the main factor behind the causes and consequences of the Great Depression. This analysis can be divided into two periods. In the first period it explores the connection between the Federal Reserve System and the so-called New Era of American Capitalism in the 1920s. In addition, it raises the question whether the Central American Bank (through monetary policy tools) influenced the contemporary economic and political development to such an extent that it resulted into the Great Depression. The focus of the second period is the behaviour of the Federal Reserve System right after the Stock Market Crash of 1929.
